The assembly area will be behind the trailer with plenty of room to place the struts on the fuselage, wings on cushions on the ground (or on stands)all behind the trailer in a sheltered aread or facing into the wind.
Wings are attached to the trailer at the side strut mounts and front.
Wings are stored on the trailer on the opposite side of which they will be placed so that the strut attachment faces out.
Bolts at the wing attach points secure each wing to the trailer front
The glider will be removed from the trailer, Wings first - placed on the ground, then fueslage. Someone must hold the fuselage upright.
Attach points for the elvator, two at front end, one at aft end and attach points for the struts beneath are visible.
Here the two wings are supported on stands with the fuselage in the middle.
The first wing strut is placed on the fuselage side
A pin is driven through the hole to line up the holed in the strut and attach point.
A bolt is driven in to follow the pin, pushing the pin out.
At least two people lift the wing to bring into place.
At least two people lift the wing to bring into place.
The spoiler torque tube (top) and aileron push rod (bottom) are visible here.
The wing is lined up with the forward and aft attach points. At least two people suppor the wing, while one person supports the fuselage, and one person installs wing attach hardware.
The aileron pushrod is visible forward, and the spoiler torque tube aft. The left wing's spoiler tube has a tapered end that sligdes into the right wing's. A bolt through the left wing's torque tube slides into the slots of the right wings joining them.
A pin is driven in to align the attach point holes
A bolt is driven in to displace the temporary pin.
A smaller pin is driven in the aft attach points to line up the holes.
A bolt then replaces the temmporary pin.
With the wing held up, the strut is raised to the wing and a pin inserted.
A bolt is driven through the upper strut attach point to diplace the temporary pin.
With the first wing fully attached, the wing is suppored by a padded ladder.
With the first wing fully attached, and strut placed on the next fuselage side, the second wing is brought into place.
With the first wing fully attached, and strut placed on the next fuselage side, the second wing is brought into place.
The two torque tubes for the spoiler join. Alleron connectins are made to the bellcrank, and spoiler connection to its control arm.
Nuts and cotter pins as requried are added, and fairings applied after control checks are perfomred.
